This is the first time this orchid has bloomed for me and I am very happy with the blooms.The flowers have a heavy, way texture to them and a very sweet, spicy scent. It had two flower spikes but the second one got trapped in the folds of the leaves and did not make it. Next year the show should be even better.

Oh how arresting. Just found the other After Dark siblings. They are amazing! I'm really interested in this hybrid.

What temperature does it enjoy?
Do you find it easy to grow?

It is not difficult to grow as long as you allow for their growth and dormancy cycles. I grow it intermediate year round: Summer temps are between the mid 80s to mid-low 60s. Then winter highs are about 70F and lows are about high 50s or so. It is important to water and feed copiously during the growing season - about April to November. Also bright light is required during this season also. Then I withhold water and fertilizer during dormancy.
