I've never used tung oil on a floor but I've used it on unfinished oak furniture, albeit about 20 years ago. I would not recommend it for floors, I would go with stain and poly. Tung oil isn't a one time finish, it's a constant maintenance finish. In fact, I've never heard of it used on a floor before!

I have long leaf heart pine in my house app 3500 square feet of it. We decided on just the natural color with a poly sealer. They look amazing I am glad that is what we went with!

@fletchneff-- what did you end up going with? I did one coat of Tung Oil on my 1920s heart pine and am regretting it halfway through the process. It has an uneven yellowish tone (wood had uneven tones) and looks very dull and "country.."
