Retreat finishes: 2013-2014

Three down...don't ask how many more to go :-)!

All quilts are lap size, the first one, gray with blocks, is dubbed K2; it's the second lap quilt I assembled for my niece, Kate, from the same fabric...I just really disliked the first one I made in 2014, ...so with the left over fabric while at the retreat, I made a simple modern design which is more to her taste...pulled together a pillow as well.

The second one is from the 2013 retreat-my first lattice style quilt. My DH said it reminded him of Spyro Gyra's album art...he was right about that...so it is dubbed Spyro Gyra!

The last one is from the 2014 retreat; thanks to everyone especially K8 for helping me arrange the blocks. I made it for someone who cares for my sister...she was touched and so was I.

Bring on the snow days...I get so much done!

Val, all three are fantastic quilts! I love modern, so they are right up my alley. I've done several with a taupey/grey background too, and I agree it's a great neutral. Your pieced borders look great. They're a lot of work, but they do use up scraps.

Nice! I think gray may be my new neutral. It gives such an elegant look.

These are really pretty. I'm especially drawn to the colors in Spyro Gyra and Zoey seems to feel the same

Val, the quilts look great. I love the simple, modern one you made for your niece. I admit I thought you were crazy to start over with the left over fabric, but it's lovely. Those fabrics really pop on that subtle gray print. Good job on them all!

They are all very nice but I really like the second one. I am having real issues with the new format that Houzz has. I don't understand how one posts other then ans. post or see everything. At times I do and then I don't. Don't have the same welcome feeling that I had before.

I like them all! Great job on the remake for your niece's quit. What did you do with the first one?
We seem to have the same tastes in patterns & more modern looking quilts.
Look back at our Cheerio Quilt show pics - can you ID the similar ones?

It is very nice to see the completed projects from the Retreats.
