@ Laura Mueller & spaul: If it helps, most are happy with Dove White BM when they are attempting to achieve this look. It's a perfect middle white (not too pink, not too yellow, not too gray, etc.) I'm just adding that since so many took an interest in the project but Crisp doesn't have record of paint color specs. Simply White also BM is another winner

What sheen is the best for the ceiling

@patricia simecka: the sheen you like. Don’t do flat like the older days. Do a satin/eggshell but if you want the light to reflect off the ceiling, then semi-gloss will work beautifully. I always paint my ceilings of different colors instead of white.
