Honed or Polished Taj Mahal Quartzite????

Need to decide soon...Honed or Polished Taj Mahal Quartzite. Like the idea of honed, but does honing make it look man made? Also, is Taj Mahal quartzite prone to staining or etching? Was told by stone yard it is much more durable than marble and granite.

Honed is like non glare glass and polished is like a semi-gloss finish. The both look great. If you want a more formal look then the polished would be a good choice.

I have the same dilemma and can't decide between honed and polished Taj Mahal quartzite for my kitchen. Which one did you end up choosing, Pugmoom?

Also, does your slab have visible little holes? I saw both honed and polished versions of this quartzite at a local slab yard and they both had those little holes. The slab yard owner claims that this is normal for quartzite and that they usually fill the holes up during fabrication. However, if they are very small (about 1-2 millimeters in diameter), they usually just let them be without filling them up. This has me very concerned because things will inadvertently spill and I can't imagine cleaning stuff up that seeps into those tiny cracks. What has your experience been like if you ended up getting the Taj Mahal?

We ended up going with something totally different :) A quartz (man-made) countertop. No regrets though - super easy clean-up and looks as good as new 5 years later. The only problem areas are around the faucets, but that's because we have hard water, which stains and ruins everything. It did even more damage to our marble countertop in the bathroom.

@natasha thanks for sharing. Did your hard water damage the Quartz? What brand Quartz did you get? Did you decide against quartzite due to potential hard water damage? TIA!
