Love the way this shower looks and will be utilizing same type of door; thanks for the visual. Can you offer any advice on small shower design. I will have 3 walls; side walls 4 ft, back wall 6 ft, ceiling height is a little shy of 7 feet. My tiles are porcelain w/ travertine look and I'm leaning toward stacked; just not sure if vertical or horizontal. Not sure vertical will give much more of a height illusion either way. Goes to your point on functionality; we made it wide because we couldn't go high due to gas lines and duct work in basement ceiling. Appreciate any thoughts.

Because you have a rather wide six foot shower, stacking the tiles horizontally rather than vertically will likely better complement the overall proportions of the shower and look more harmonious. I think your intuition is right that stacking vertically will probably not elongate the look of the shower height in this case.

I'm coming back a little late in the conversation but I totally agree with CAGE Design Build. Horizontal tiles would be more harmonious.
