Thanks. How about this photo?

What is desirable is to show the buds, cones and foliage up close.

These are zoom in shots. I hope you can identify the pines now. They do not have low-hanging branches, so it is hard to reach for their branches, foliage and buds.

I asked my neighbours here in the Azores and they just tell me it is a PINHEIRO or PINHÃO, which means basically a pine tree. I hope someone can identify the Latin name of these pines. I have heard in the past this could be an Azorean Pine, but what is it's official, Latin, botanical, listed name? Thank you in advance.

Pinus canariensis would be my guess.

Thanks for your guesstimate. I see Pinus pinea on the island and they look different, with totally umbrella shape. Perhaps this is some kind of localized pine, Pinus canariensis or even unknown Pinus azoriensis. :-)

Could this be Maritime Pine (Pinus pinaster)?

possibly and maybe Aleppo pine/pinus halapensis which has kind of similar cones in general shape to maritime pine BUT indeed you might well be right that it is indeed p. pinaster!!!

Pinus pinaster, for definite. Naturalised in the Azores.

Strange, my last post was deleted even if I clearly did not break any of the rules. We cut down a lot of the dead pines (only the dead or the dying ones) and it seems that the most killing is allegedly being done by the Solar Radiation Management or geo-engineering also unpopularly known as "chemtrails" and I suspect that is what got my post deleted by just mentioning these illegal unconstitutional events. If you disagree, please just ignore this particular message.
