can you tell me was used on the walls to achieve that look? are they real wood planks?

    Yes, those are real, 100 + year old timber planks, about 3 to 4" thick and chinked with the material used on log or timber buildings. This is applied to a standard interior wall construction.

    Beautiful work! But how is the timber treated...is it stained? Is there a lacquer or varnish over it?
