Visit several bath showrooms. Don't be afraid to climb into the tubs to see how they feel. Tubs come in a variety of lengths and depths with all kinds of whistles and bells. Some are just soakers while others have jets. There are round, oval, rectangular corner and free standing. Some fit two people. Collect brochures and then do some research online for reviews and ask the vendor for some testimonials. Only you know what you want and need and what is within your budget.

Where is this tub going, Fannie? That is the biggest question to answer. Most bathrooms have a space for a typical 5 foot tub. Is this a replacement tub, or part of your reno? There are two basic types to look at: steel and acrylic (plastic). Steel tubs will hold water temperature longer than acrylic. Unless you add insulation to the underside of the tub. But this can present a problem if you have jets. One thing I don't suggest is to buy the cheapest one. You get what you pay for, right?
