Hi toadhansen, I have had great luck with the Zephyr line over the years of selling the product. I have also sold this style hood in other brands with good success as well. I will say it depends on what you put the hood over and how long of a duct run you have as to its efficiency. If you are putting this over a standard cooktop/ range you should have good results. Where as, if you put it over a professional range (Viking or Wolf) it does not have the capture area to handle the volume.

how would it work for an induction cooktop

RiverBend makes a great point. If you look at the underside of the Zephyr Pisa, the capture area is rather small. I'm also wondering how easy the glass is to clean (can it be removed and tossed into the washer?).

This has confirmed my suspicion that it just doesn't provide enough surface area for campturing grease and smoke, even for my 30" gas cooktop.
