Are my Calla Lilies sprouting too soon?

I live in British Columbia, we are still having very cold nights, below freezing. My neighbor lives here only in spring, summer and fall. Goes south for the winter. Left four potted Calla Lilies for me to take care of. I quickly found that many advise digging the bulbs out and storing them in something like sawdust. My neighbor seemed to think the thing to do was put them in these pots. I was going to keep them on my bedroom floor, as the room is mostly closed off in winter, but it got too cold, and friends told me that locals just bring them in the house and let the sit. Okay, I did this, but put them on the floor to keep them cool as possible. Then, oh dear, on about February 15 one started sprouting. Then another. And going like gangbusters. I'm afraid they will bloom so fast my neighbor won't have any blooms for the summer. I put the unsprouted two back in the bedroom. What do you Calla Lily fans think? I never had one before in my life.
