"stained" doesn't seem quite right. what material are they made of? I would presume that they're painted, in which case you can have them painted any shade of gray you want (and that awesome counter offers you many choices). the only trick would be if they were, say, melamine, which would need different handling. but I don't think you're going to be doing any wood stain on cabinets with a finish like this.

The cabinets can be painted over with any color you would like. I would try to find cabinet pulls you like with the same distance posts as the current ones so the holes won’t have to be filled and new ones drilled, but it is certainly possible if you fall in love with different sized pulls.

Since your granite is staying and has lots of movement and pattern, I would get cabinet color, and backsplash tile options, along with wall color so you can put them in the space together and make all of the selections at once as opposed to piecemeal.
