You should really start with the type of pool you want and design around that concept. The depth of the water in the pool can dictate how high the terrace is elevated. In this case, we are 5 feet above finished grade.

Here are the steps involved:

Step 1. Define what type of pool you desire

Step 2. Draw a plan

Step 3. Have it engineered

Step 4. Select a contractor and have it priced

Step 5. Make adjustments as required to steps 1-4.

Step 6. Get your permits

Step 7. Get a final price from the contractor

Step 8. Sign a contract

Step 9. Construct the pool and terrace

Step 10. Fill with water and enjoy :)
