Would this cream and brown ikat rug from Overstock work?

It might work. Just worried about it being too busy. Was also thinking it might be good to add a pop of blue to try and get away a bit from brown and burgandy and Orange...or just compliment those colors and bring some brightness to room

The rug you are currently using is quite a bit too small. When you purchase a new one go up to the next size. Actually the one I'm looking at is a very good style for your room. The one which is currently in your photo with your furniture not the one that Carol posted.

This rug is an oriental tribal rug that has your colors you showed in the photo but definitely takes things up a notch in style. It wouldn't be a huge departure from a traditional oriental but still different enough to match your need for something different. Go to any large dealer of rugs and I am sure they can show you a range of styles.

I agree with all so far. The rug we currently have is too small which is why I am looking to get another... Plus I would just like some more color since to me everything looks so monochromatic....and dull
