Need a color facelift

This is my first time doing this and I'm 61 yrs old. I like white as it has always appear to make certain items of the house stand out. I saw a home with this same brick color and the advice that was given was different shades of grey.

Please help as I'm open for suggestions to bring new life to this home...the front door is painted black and the painted areas are cement board..home located in N.C.

What a nice inviting home! Can you add a close up picture of the bricks?

Let's start by changing the color of front door to brick red

That is awesome, very eye popping and sends a warm invitation. Any particular paint brand for this project as I understand the different shades of red between brands. Thank you

Next I would take the returns on the front of the garage all the across the front of the garage

I will get the color I have used many of times for you, but if you do paint it use these rolls, to get a nice even smooth look without the brush marks, they are sold at Home Depot

See the small roof above the Patio doors, that goes across the whole front above the patio doors. I would do the same on your Home, Take the short returns on the front of your garage all the way across the front of the garage to break up the massive brick wall. I'm off to work now, hope I did help a little.

Love the idea of a red front door. Then add shutters for the window on the garage that overlooks the sidewalk. Now integrate the entrance with the front lawn. Do this by widening the front walkway and including a seating area maybe just near the door where you could add a bench/birdbath, a couple of chairs etc. I would personally remove the bushes next to the garage and widen the sidewalk with similar brick that is near the door. Include the front garden into the new patio seating area by removing the grass between the patio and garden. Add pots of flowers. You may already have a backyard patio but a front one may be the perfect place to sit and have coffee if it gets morning sun when the back yard is in shade or viceversa. I find a front seating area very frendly to meet and talk to neighbors.

I welcome the idea of widening the front walkway, but as you can see the existing walkway is cement which I was thinking of adding color to it. Adding the brick along side the existing walkway would make it standout beautifully. I didn't fully understand where you said remove the grass between the patio and the garden as I would love the idea of adding a bench.

Sidewalk is Fine, Upper gable above front door try something like this, vinyl shake siding may give it a total diff. Look ;o)

That is very nice and being a vinyl siding, it should last for quite sometime. Low Maintenance. Would you suggest a color??

LOL ,,, The color your on your own, I would have one of the sales Rep. stop by and show you some samples . I would have to be in front of the home to get a true feel for what color would work best. But the next time I drive thru N.C. I'll let you know the best COLOR ..... LOL Have fun fix in up the new look on your home!

Thank you to all for your support, you have served as an inspiration to do wonderful things with our home, and will definitely run with these great ideas.

This is a great idea and would make it the only house in the neighborhood with such a landscape. Less grass to cut also. Thank you Mr. Eckert for your time and effort. The support here has been outstanding and greatly appreciated.
