Exterior design dilemma

Looking for ideas on what to do with the exterior of our 100+ year old home. Paint colors, stone ideas or whatever. Updating all windows to white pvc.

Your house has elements of a craftsman bungalow-really pretty. I would change the front gable stucco (above the stained windows) with shingles either cedar or Hardie shingles for a more modern touch. Repeat the knee braces (those decorative brackets) on the upper gable to the lower one for consistency. Add a 3 feet stone from the ground up to anchor the house. If you're gonna change those small stained glass windows, ensure they balance in size and proportion with the bay window. In terms of colour scheme. If your thinking getting white windows, perhaps paint the stucco a darker bluish grey and make all the trims a linen colour. Best of luck!

I'd add foundation plantings that fill in the space where the bottom of the bay window is showing, and the large gap between your stained glass windows and the ground.

I hop you aren't changing the original? stained glass windows. If your windows will be white trimmed, you should paint the house to contrast. What about gray with white trim added to the section above the stained glass windows? What color is the roof? Would be lovely to have a colorful garden infant of the 2 windows with some green plants along the bay window. Can't tell what you have there now.

I actually like the colors on this house, especially the trim. Maybe just a fresh coat of paint and perhaps slightly lighter cream on the house. Definitely do some landscaping under all r

Changing the original windows in a 100+ year old house isn't an "update", it's a massacre! Please, I beg you to reconsider, and restore your original windows instead, to protect the historic integrity of your lovely old house. It's not that hard to do, we did it ourselves in our old house.

I agree you have to save the stained glass windows but I also think they seem too small for that side of the house. Consider a brick facade half way up that side so that the windows take up a larger part of the section.

Scrap the facade comment. I hesitated there. Fill up the space with landscaping. But keep those windows.

The shingles are black. The "stained" glass is not original. The front of the house is an addition probably in the 90's. The stucco is the rough/knobby texture dating back probably to about the '70's look. Removing the stucco is not an option on the main part of the house for a few reasons, but we are considering removing the stucco on the front - the addition.
I do like the landscaping suggestions. Currently we have several hostas that fill under the window in summer.
