I think to make it look right, you'll have to move the light switches. Tile even with the counter/upper cabinets and have the switches either all the way in the tile, or all the way out. If they won't fit outside the tile as they are, you could split them - add an outlet to outlet & switch closer to the window, and keep the switches by the door.

The folks above have covered your options. It's a matter of how much work you are willing to do. Door to floor is simple. Move outlet, patch & paint wall would look better but a lot more work. They didn't show this on TV. FYI 80% of the time the window apron is removed to allow for more tile below.
