Which gray -- the upper one? If so, then tan is ok; if it's the lower one, then the amount of blue will require a cooler color rug.

It will likely be the darker one

With the darker paint colour I like: Leave It Natural, Beach Abstract, Fraser...., Sweet Romance and Possibilities. Delicate Mist and Key West look too pink to me together with that paint colour. But... always hard to tell since we're looking at a photo on a screen. And... the light in the actual room will probably be different than the light here? Also, you will see the paint 'standing up', not lying down on the floor. Will make a difference too.

This is based on looking only at the carpet and wall color samples- If you go with the darker gray, I would go with the carpet that is 2nd row from the bottom, first on left side. What else is going on in your room, though? What color are your bedding and furniture?

No bedding yet as it is getting built at the moment. Consensus is beach abstract. Will it look odd if paint and carpet are close to matching?

I like leave it natural. It is more neutral and if you decide to change wall color later, it will work with more options.

With the darker paint color I'd go with the first one in the third row down...at least from what I see on my screen.

I like Sweet Romance and Leave it Neutral. I always like my carpet to be a bit darker than the wall color as it seems to ground the space.

Your paint is a cool grey, which means it has blue undertones. You would be better to stick with a similar carpet. That really only leaves you three options: Leave it natural, Beach Abstract, and Possibilities. (Under the Stars is just too dark.) I think Leave it Natural will be the easiest to live with and will stand the test of time.

I like the second row first sample on the left most versatile and that issue of paint on the wall vs sample lying flat is huge. Just had that problem big time and I think I know color

I like the second row, thins one in. Can't read the name because the paint chip is on it. The carpet does not have to match the walls. Keep in mind there will be base board mounding separating these two colors. I like how these look together; a soft sea and sand look.

Ask the carpet store for a larger sample in the color you are choosing before you purchase though so you can lay it down in your space!

I would always go with a darker carpet. Hides dirt and its a better contrast with the walls. The bottom second one in would be my choice. Good luck!
