Saving Dawn from disfigurement

bunch of years ago, when my Dawn was like 16 ft. ,or so,,,top 3-4 ft. was bent over by some animal (probably raccoon being chased by coyote),bent 100 degrees ,,,,,made me cry (almost),,,I had to fix it,,,,,but how do you get ladder up there,,,to the top of a weak limbed dawn redwood ?

picture this

I set my 8 ft. step ladder up close,,,tied & staked it to the ground,,,,,,then I lay my extention ladder against it & staked that to the ground

climbed up with 2x2 and nylon cord, straightened that baby out,,,,left that on for a year

was to chicken to go back up to cut it off,,,had to use pole pruner.
