Please HELP!!! I think I picked the wrong color for my roof:(

So after much thought me and my girlfriend decided on the gaf timberline pewter gray color for our roof. I didnt think it would look bad but now im thinking that we should have went darker with the slate or charcoal. I keep trying to think what colors would work with the foundation and on the shutters but I can't think of any. Please will someone give me their honest opinion on the roof and color choices/ things that would add to the homes curb appeal?

The roof is okay, but you want to make sure when you repaint in the future that you don't go any darker than the roof as it needs to be the darkest part of the house.

If, at some point in the future you decide you hate the light roof, you can always add another layer of shingles--at least you can have 2 layers in the county I live.

Your roof color is fine. I also suggest painting the foundation the same color as the siding. Staining the concrete porch a light gray, expanding the porch towards the window whenever budget allows, reseeding the lawn, & a landscape plan will accomplish what you want. Good luck.

I ACTUALLY LIKE your roof color. I think you have a contemporary house. I would remove the shutters, which are wrongly sized and could not possibly cover your windows. I would paint the house in a darker grey and have the trims in black. paint the front door in a bright color that makes you happy: bright yellow, magenta, turquoise, bright blue, orange.

accent with 2 pots in the same color as front door.

Plant soft landscaping such s ornamental grasses, or hosts an and some flowers in the same colors.

I second the suggestion to remove the shutters. If your house feels naked without them, just add wider trim around the windows. I also like the roof color.

I think your roof color is lovely. You have so many ways to personalize your exterior, be it door color or landscaping. I'm in a similar place. After much analysis paralysis we had our cedar home's roof replaced with Owens Corning Duration in. Brownwood. I despise the color! It looked so nice in the sample but all I see is a wretched copper color. I think Teak would have been the better choice. Hubby loves Brownwood, as did our contractor. Happy wife, Happy life. Not

I selected pewter as well for my traditional White House with black shutters and door. I looked for months. I absolutely hate it. I see blue everytime I look at it and it completely clashes somehow with the black. I haven't ccx said a word to anyone because I'm mortified. I saw in an earlier post that the roof should be the darkest part if the house. why the hell dont the roofers tell you that?

Good thing you didn't go with slate. I selected slate and I'm pissed. I was sent pictures of the color which was a beautiful medium gray. I asked for gray.  I was not told that slate gas a greenish tint.  I put the pictures side to side and it is not the same color they sent me. I asked for samples prior and they said they don't do that. I was buying the house so I had no choice in the matter. I had to use the sellers roofer.

I think your house looks beautiful! And I mean the roof too. It looks great.
