I know I need to change the wall color after I redo the cabinets. I love beadboard but just do not know whether to go light with dark antiquing in crevaces or stain a dark or medium to show wood grain (cabinets currently are stained). Any advice would be so appreciated! Thanks!

White is very popular and white would look nice with your countertops and backsplash.

I agree with the white, but it doesnt have to be "your mothers" white as the Buick commercial goes. White is classic and the antiquing trend has pretty much run its course. We've been using a Heron Plume from Sherwin Williams which is a white with a very slight gray tone. Your eyes will read it as white until you put it next to a straight white. These cabinet are Heron Plume.

I think its an issue with the wall color not the cabinets. they need hardware, not stain.

I could not decide either, so I went with both. Ivory on top with brown in the groves and brown on the bottom and in the corners. And I love the uniqueness.

Edit the area. Pick up a folder from the paint store of many different whites. Look through them until you see one that appeals to you, then buy sample cans of that or those colors to paint on poster board to move around your room at different times of the day. If you paint the back wall where your cabinets are it will give you a whole different feeling in the room. Don't paint the cabinets or the rock facing on the island area. That will not be an easy undertaking & if you end up not liking it, it will be for nought. It seems too many people are needing a change in their kitchen so they think painting it white is going to resolve the problem.

Yes, install nice oil rubbed bronze cup hardware on the drawers & knobs on your doors. That seems to go with your style very well.

love your barstools. You should also put up a brighter (lighter) Roman shade on your window. It will pull that area more into the room as it should.

I have to agree with way too much white comment. So, change the wall color to a light color and put hardware on the cabinets and maybe use a darker tinted urethane color? Lots to think about but really can't thank everyone enough for the ideas. Fantastic feedback! Keep them coming.....
