Water damage advice needed

The day before moving in, our builder discovered an area of hardwood flooring warping which led to discovery of a roof leak. He removed the flooring, a large area of drywall and wet insulation, and set up commercial fan and dehumidifier for 24hrs. That was a week ago and what we can see looks and feels dry. Any advice for us before builder proceeds with restoration of flooring and wall? Ask for extension of the home's 1 yr warranty? Have an independent evaluation before work proceeds? Get something in writing?

You need to make sure you don't have mold in your attic from the leak. My neighbor who is a hoarder had a leaky roof several years ago, and from what my husband saw when we were over there once, the ceiling was sagging, and there was mold on the small bathroom ceiling so we're certain there is mold in the attic. Mold can cause a host of nasty health issues so it isn't something to ignore.

Roof leak=some flashing somewhere done incorrectly. That needs to be assessed ASAP. It does zero good to repair the damage without finding the source of the damage.
