what method is being used to attach the fence posts

Looks like a beautiful job! I think I'd like something similar for my yard but not sure if it its my parameters. What method is being used to attach the fence posts to the wall? And what sort of foundation does the wall have? Is it a retaining wall or freestanding? I love the color of the block, what type is it?

The fence is actually offset of the garden wall.

Wall colour is typical charcoal available by most product suppliers.

Wall is built on a bed of compacted crush.
