a question regarding binding

I know. I'm just full of questions. I want to make a few table runners and I know how to apply binding and get great mitered corners ( practiced on a bunch of potholders for hubby, who does most of the cooking). But what about a corner that isn't 90 degrees, such as in the runner at the link below? Does the same method work? Or is there a better way to get a clean corner? more like 45 degrees
