Please do not change the knobs. This is a beautiful suite of furniture, probably from the forties or fifties. Waterfall with veneer. Do not let anyone tell you to paint or change them. What size & details of your guest room, please. Also send us photos of the room.

Sorry, I was wrong on the date & you even had it correct in your post. I'm sorry you do not like white walls, but it happens when used to living in apartments & condos, huh?

A dusty mauve was a color they used a lot then, but let's don't do that, very depressing. I would rather not see an accent wall either.

Would you be willing to do one accent wall (I just got through saying not to use an accent wall), however they have such beautiful irridescent colors now & they are not cheap.

HI -- Your furniture is actually called " Depression " furniture and it really isn't deco . Depression furniture was made from after the first world war to the second ww and into the late forties . It was made in sets as affordable furniture for war vet families . Designed in a deco type style with different wood veneers originally left over from more expensive furniture . Some of the handles on some sets were made out of "bakeolite " a cellulose type like plastic . If your sets handles are original , then do not change them. This furniture was considered cheap from that time but is made better than some things now . It does not have any great antique value , it is really only vintage right now . If the bedroom is not big enough for the whole set together then put some in the other bedroom too.

Hang Tiger Notebook on small wall 5' high on small wall backing the storage off the patio, hang the Orion Nebula above the high dresser. Lamps on each night stand.

miacometlady, I didn't mean any offense to anyone! Clearly I don't use houzz much, and I wasn't aware that posting a second thread was going to offend anyone since I was simply seeking advice for my own personal project. I'll note this for the future when I want to seek advice on other projects. I also wasn't casting anyone's helpful advice aside, as I'm sure you can see from my response in my first thread.

WOW those are beauties. please do not change a thing there. But do not make it into a museum by having everything period. I would have those with a couple of wall lamps (because your night tables are tiny) in brass (just not shiny)

Please do not change the knobs! While was not expensive at the time, that beautiful waterfall veneer makes it look expensive. I actually grew up with this type furniture in my bedroom. That was in the 1940s and 50s. I still have the chest of drawers whic had to be refinished because it had been painted. I am also looking for the other pieces. I intend to use a really bright tropical duvet cover on my bed and sheer white drapes. The walls which I intend to paint again may be violet or a deep coral. Wish I could find more of this furniture! I want the room to have an Old Hollywood feeling, maybe add a faux animal skin rug.. Good luck with your room, forget the white walls.
