How a paint color looks in a room is totally dependent on the light including the type of light bulbs being used. For that reason, you need to go to the paint store and get as many paint swatches in the colors you're looking at using so you can see how they look in your home. When you narrow it down to 2 or 3, buy paint samples along with some poster boards or small pieces of sheetrock [sold in the paint section of big box stores] to paint and move around to see how the light looks on them. If your samples aren't what you want, keep looking. It took me two weeks and 5 paint samples to figure out what color to paint my bathroom as I have an older multi-colored linoleum floor I was trying to match. It was worth it as the color I went with looks wonderful.

Haley is right. And unless you show us some photos of your room(s) with the furniture, rugs, etc...we can't give an opinion.

However, having said that...our condo is quite dark (not much natural light). We painted all the rooms in BM Edgecomb Gray...and like it a lot. Very nice neutral palette for artwork, mirrors, etc and its a light enough color that it reflects what natural light we get. I don't want people to focus on my walls or floors...I want them to focus on what is ON those walls and floors (my art and my oriental rugs). Does that make sense?
