Was this actually done to this home, or is it a plan?

This private residence included my involvement from early concept drawings to completed construction. I designed the the exterior of the house, interior room layout, sunroom addition and front and backyard landscape. Additional views of the backyard transformation can be seen on my website.

Pretty but did you have to knock down both trees?

Both trees were hit by lightning a few years before this renovation, leaving visible wounding on both trunks. Arborist placed ligatures were keeping the tree on the right from splitting further but it was weaker each year after the hit and so the choice for removal was made. The left tree could have remained but would have required canopy re-shaping after the right tree was gone. Further cost, further stress to the tree, possible future need for removal, all culminated in client choice for it's removal too.

What a difference. I could live in this house.
