Hi Toats! :) I haven't been on..... I've been pretty sick... But.... I just noticed that you were contacted by Houzz! Congrats on that, I'm happy for ya. Hope to see your feature soon.... that's pretty cool. :) Make sure you let us know when it's happening, so we can peek. I wonder? Does that come in the newsletter that Houzz emails? I just don't want to miss it. :) Take care... Zaz :)

looking forward to the feature. If you want to pull weight fast off the pupster trade part of his kibble for low sodium green beans. They think they are eating people food and it's nothing but fiber.

Toats, it's so boring around here when you're out earning a crust....we just need to figure out a way for you to earn a living whist entertaining us....

ha! thanks fiss :) godallmighty this job is such a bore!!!

Fiss, I was thinking the same thing. Ever since toats started that seasonal job, I've been lost without some activity. See what working does. My creativity starts in 18 days.

So, toats....when do you (and we) get out of the hole?

Rider...are you going to stop riding? :) For summer or for good? :) :)

Rider I feel your pain! So my current project ends on May 20th. I usually do more projects that last till sometime in july but not this year. Too much to do on the house so I can't spare the time!

Ugh-- the worst thing in the world is putting a place on the market. Putting pictures on the website...all your stuff on "display" (I guess a Houzz Advice thread is good practice tho. haha) And you've done such a great decorating job on it, Toats! And you have gotten really, really good at photographing it too.

    thanks rred!

What else do you have to do on the house, toats? I guess there's that one sorta boring bathroom, but really, the place looks fantastic. It is totally in showing condition from what I can see. And you could put together a brochure today from those great pics you've taken of it.

well the quilt wall room is a hot mess, missing large pieces of drywall, and the quilt wall itself needs to be finished. and then the boring bathroom needs painting, and some curb appeal needs to happen.

Totally 100% better! Love the cow artwork and the black painted twin beds. Great job!

Toats, I didn't read all of the comments so someone may have already mentioned this, but I would add a vertical element behind the beds. Just build a simple 1x4 or 1x6 slatted frame with 1" gap could be stained or painted. This will hide your chord... just run along either side of the vertical supports rather than the middle. This will also help break-up the walls and give the room more of a dynamic feel. See the pic below. Hope it helps.

Cow artwork? That's blasphemy! It's a goat. You know the best of the best in the animal world. LOL

Cow artwork? Not sure what you are talking about?! Maybe you meant to comment on another post. LOL

Norwood Architects I was referring to the post directly above yours. You and I posted right around the same time.

What a great transformation! I'm in love with your room. I would leave the cords the way they are, the look fits the room. This room is refreshing. You have lots of innovative ideas and good taste. Love your sense of humor too. You'll make a great designer. Can't wait to see your other room make-over.

School is out May 21 at 2:35 so I plan to start renovating on the 23rd. First I'm going to tackle the garage storage room before it gets too hot, then our bedroom. I've bought everything for the master bath but have to wait for guests to leave before starting on it. I have a vision of what I want it to look like.

I'm going to work at least one more year. We have a girl who will be a senior next year and then 3 kids that will move up to the freshman center so I'd like to see them thru. Then there's E (alias Cruella from last year) who is beginning to say words and I want to see more of her progress. She hates having her hair washed or brushed but she found my brush that I keep in my purse and started to brush her own hair. Now she says "pretty". How can I leave that?

Are we going to continue to follow this thread or start a new one..."completing Toats house for feature on houzz"?

Can't wait for you to get to Savannah. We need you and your talent down here. While we don't have sure nuff basements, we do have unfinished first floors, with the main living areas starting on the second floor with additional bedrooms on the third floor. My house it set up this way and I call my first floor the basement.

auntie, yep, back to the quilt wall as soon as i can :) I was actually offered another project today and im turning it down, i realllly need to get to work on the house. im hoping that i can convince mr toats to hire someone to fix the drywall in the quilt wall room, one less thing ill need to do meself. but he wants to do it ourselves ugh.

and i have company coming right after i finish this project. we promised our friends we would go to myrtle beach with them and we dont wanna back out, so itll be a bit of a delay before im full on "house finishing". ugh so much to do.

anyone know of any large dog friendly rentals in myrtle beach? i cant board my dogs gotta take em.

"Willie and Old Dog go to beach" See Doggies play! Enjoy yourselves, Toats. No, I'm sorry I don't know of anyplace but there are, of course, websites for that like a Craigslist of rentals. I can't think of the name of them though, sorry.

Hi Toats, I can't promise anything, but my cousin has three dogs......and I think he may have done a job down there? He or his girlfriend may know of a place? He never leaves home without his dogs. They are his kids....I'm actually wondering if they will ever have kids? Lol :) I will see what I can find out. I will let you know by later today.....unless you found something already. :)

Hi Toats! :) Well, I was surprised.... my cousin has five dogs now......3 labs, 1 mutt, and a corgi pit-bull mix. Lol :) Anyway.....I'm sorry, he doesn't know of a rental. He's actually down that way now and his job pays for their rental.... but he had only found one over an hour from work. He said it's hard to find with the dogs.

But.... he did give me this info..... James Island Park, he said they have two beaches that dogs can swim at. :)

Sorry I wasn't much help. :( Good luck, I hope you find a place. Have a good time! :)

so where can I get the goat painting?

omg! Jeanne wants you to start an etsy store . . . jeanne, her talents are not for sale at present .. just for sharing.

    last modified: 11 years ago

Actually, I think Toats still has her etsy store. Though, I think she mentioned earlier in the post that she didn't paint the goat. Please don't quote me, but that's what I'm remembering. I'm sure Toats will pop on at some point and I'm sure she'll help with any info needed. ;)

Hi Toats, Hope you're doing well! :) Willie too. :)

I have the same goat, in a little 8x8 version. I got mine at a gift and decor shop that had many others by the same artist.

Hi guys! Saca, willie is doing a lil better, his hair is a little thicker since starting his meds but his waistline is still thick!

Jeanne, I bought the goat print at some random shop while antiquing one day (it's not an antique or anything, just a canvas print). The artists name is Diane whitehead, if you google her name with the word goat you should be able to find it to purchase :)

Toats, Hi again! Just wanted to say.... as someone who knows, I'm hypo too and I really hate meds of any kind. But not taking them caused a miscarriage and major memory problems, not to mention hair loss and weight gain. And from someone small all their life, it was hard to take. I thought the meds would magically remove weight, well, that's not how it works and trust me it's depressing. So, my advice and what will definitely work, is healthy food and plenty of exercise everyday. Just make sure he gets those meds everyday, very important for all the functions of his organs. Good luck with him, I hope he's feeling better soon. :)
