Did you have the tub re-glazed -

I have similar tub also from 1920 2 sided with a 1920 thick alum . shower enclosure - would love to be able to fix

Did not need to reglaze the tub as it was in great condition.

We had ours reglazed for about $450 in 2013. Most people tell me that it should last 10 years. However, ours just started chipping and water gets underneath the paint that chips, making it worse.
