Thinking about this color-matched to Behr's Amazon Moss.

Good point on the stone gable, but foundation is engineered and poured-and we would need to move the stone to another part of the house to meet deed restrictions. Since it's full thickness stone, I don't think we can shift the weight. I really don't want to go with a brownish color-the stone is about 80% gray, and I just don't like the juxtaposition. Now that you mention the mint green toothpaste thing, I totally see it. We back to a park, and we checked the color next to all the trees, it looked pretty good. I also thought about a gray, which might blend more with the stone and tone down the busyness. I am posting a picture of the stone.

Agree with Sophie, the "floating stone" is not in an appropriate place. Stone would never make its way up there, I always think it looks better if its somehow grounded by the foundation. If you need more stone, maybe finish the rest the garage gable instead. The green would be better if a little more sage, rather than minty. Look at Craftsman houses here on Houzz. My neighbors house is similar to that color and it actually clashes with the trees.

We are struggling to find a paint color for the exterior of our house. We want to get away from the pale yellow/beige color it is currently. Any ideas? The roof is beige with orange undertones with some red highlights in the tiles that have faded over the years.

Does stucco qualify as masonry? If so, the stone would be accents and the stucco would work with gables, etc. It could also be less costly . Who knows, you may even have money available to upgrade windows that offer exterior colors.

Unfortunately, no-stucco doesn't count. Brick or stone only. We could pick "sand" or "silver" windows, but I love white trim with white windows. Wouldn't want to go with wood because of the humidity and rot-Houston is known as the Bayou City for a reason :). I'm not too worried about the floating stone-entryway below is stone and the siding beneath is set back under the porch-about 15 feet back. If I could do over, might have changed, but the pier and beam foundation is engineered and poured-and shifting the stone might be an issue die to weight. Color is killing me though-I wanted a grayish green-but they don't seem to look good with the stone. Unfortunately, sages look terrible. The stone has a silver tint in person, so I need something cool. Posting pic of house I love.

I love this house-it's what sold me on the gray stone...

We are removing the "floating stone"-thanks for the feedback. Likely moving to the side of the house.

Final product-it actually is a grayish bluish green depending on the light.
