Appliances, where to buy

When building a home, did you find the best cost somewhere in relation to the appliances?

I have not started on my build but I am doing my research, I will say build.com has some good prices (competitive compared to the "big box" stores in my area).

I used AJ Madison for my kitchen remodel. Call for the best prices. They carry a ton of manufacturers and models. I even ordered my sink from them.

We just used AJ MAdison for our new DW. They had the best price, plus free delivery. The unit got here several days early in good shape. They carried it into the house and uncrated it to inspect for damage.

Plessers.com is one good source. There are so many bi usually find the item I want and then google it to find the best price. Sometimes they don't publish the price and you will need to call around. Then, if you find it's cheaper at one online store but want to use another they typically will match or beat the price.

This is how I got all of my appliances for our new build. In the end we used several different online companies. Hope this helps! Good luck.

I'm not building yet, either, but will second Butternut's advice. Building is expensive and of course we all want to save where we can, but I do believe it's important to support our local businesses. That's part of what makes a community. And as mentioned, a local business can offer services you won't get online.

our builder recommended starting with a local business they often work with, and while we planned to also look elsewhere.....their prices were very competitive and the service has been great thus far.

Our builder uses a local business and provided all of the appliances for the entire neighborhood (exclusive builder for the neighborhood). Helps with any future service issue.

Lowes has been fantastic to work with. Very responsive to requests to delay delivery dates, etc. The best prices provided you are looking at lines that they carry which is not everything. Mostly mid to upper mid market stuff.

We replaced the appliances in our current home and got super prices on Frigidaire Gallery. We ordered Bosch for our new home.

So certainly keep Lowes on the list.
