Yes, I agree my livingroom is WAY to dark! I'm wanting to use a neutral on the walls and replacing sofas with a sectional. I have a small space so I think a sectional would be better suited in a different color. Thank you!

If you are purchasing new furniture, think about getting something on a smaller, more tailored scale. Big, overstuffed sofas are a pet peeve of mine, even though I seem to see them everywhere! The sectional pictured above is very attractive.

could you draw a floor plan. it is so dark in there is hard to see what space you have.

It is possible to get a picture of the space with all lights on. svn bringing on some other work lights? I cannot even make out whatever is on the far wall?

Thank you. These are pictures of the room. I went around and took pics of all angels of the livingroom. The measurements are: 11' 5" width by 19' 9". So my dilemma is everything; color of the room layout and furniture proportions. The tv is on the far wall and I wanted to create a room where we could all sit comfortably and watch a movie. The bulky chair is right in the way of the farthest couch. I'm thinking a sectional but do I put longest side on far wall? Then short side on wall across from slider! Then what do I put on wall adjacent to slider? Is the tv on wrong wall? Input is gratefully appreciated!

Also I hate the rug. Too dark for dark floors. Suggestions?

Great. now we can see what is there. Floor color is nice. what color you like: I would keep the sofa that is in front of the window. get a smaller (not leather sofa perpendicular. get a big rug and 2 smaller chairs that can be pulled in when needed.

paint the room in a blue-green, a warm tan, a grey, or a soft white.

get a big sectional or a big couch and a smaller couch. the rug needs to be big enough to go under the furniture.

pull you tv lower over the stand.

that recliner is nice. keep it. maybe we can tweak things a bit and keep it.

he most important thing is to get those walls painted. find a light bright color you like: BM cashmere, elmira white, mascarpone, solei, ewing blue, palladian blue, sw salt, bm safari.

first:pick up a rug you like. my favorite place for rugs is overstock.com. go for 8 x 10. easiest to keep clean is a wool rug, hand knotted. that will give you a palette of colors to work with

second:get your sofas. your side tables are good. so is the horse picture.

third find a color you like for the rom.

fourth: transform the can light into a regular fixture. they are kist for it.

I think if you put a sectional you can keep the recliner. look first for a rug. I like pottery barn and west elm furniture. Pottery barn sofas are USA made too.

We have a difficult space for fitting several people to watch movies or tv. We found getting a multi direction swiveling tv mount gave us more arrangement options, because the tv can be adjusted to accommodate more people in the room. So I suggest that before deciding to buy new furniture.

Sure. For warm beiges try safari, elmira white, bm Flawless. yes not of those are warm colors. warm is defined by the yellow undertone, as opposed to the the blue undertone. you could also try BM solei, my absolute yellow favorite, and a grey thatI love and it reads pretty warm, BM wish

I like that rug better than the grey, but it still has some cooler tones. Let me see what can I find, especially if you are planning to keep your sofas

That would be best. I suggest you then get a rug you REALLY like.
