I would love to see the old shows! I only saw a few. I used to read Croket's books nightly when I first got a job in a garden center in Pa.

I would love to see it work out. I feel that the old shows for the most part were geared for for your location. If you lived in the north east part of the show was set in Lexington MA. If you live in the south there was a segment of the show with Jim Wilson from victory garden south at callaway gardens in pine mountain GA. There was also a victory garden west. Today's victory garden appears to have a lot of stuff from over seas and it doesn't quite match up with our seasons here in the states. I remember Bob tompson traveling to people's personal local gardens and talking about their crops with them. He would help the owners with ways for soil improvements, soil testing, explaining each vegetable and what it takes to grow heathy plants, etc. Todays victory garden isn't even close to what it once was. That's just my opinion. Oh! And don't forget the cooking segment of the show with Marian Morash! I wish I could turn back the clocks.

I know the books I had were geared for the Northeast. They were the first gardening books I ever read. I wish I would have kept them.

Last I read/heard the rights were control by the Crockett family estate. Some episodes are available on U-Tube under Crockett's Victory Garden and there are still some old VHS tapes around.

Thanks for that link. Looks like there are several people hoping for the same thing. I've looked on YouTube and there's not much at all for those years. I do however own the victory garden vhs tape on vegetable gardening with Bob tompson and Jim Wilson. Great video.

I would agree that the current season of "Victory Garden's edibleFeast" is absolute television garbage, I can't even watch it. The prior season at least had snippets of Roger Swain going for it and I was able to fast forward to those segments. It seems like the new season is tailored towards the-suburban novice gardener dabbling in the hobby until they go on vacation for two weeks and come back and the garden is somehow dead or overrun with weeds (how did this happen?)-crowd. I would be very interested in seeing some of the older seasons as they were before my time and I have never laid eyes on any. But I will look into the link Dave provided above and joep13: keep fighting the good fight!

I hope someone out there has a bunch of old recordings that will end up on YouTube for all who have interest can benefit. I found two of my fathers old recordings. I'm going to try to post them on YouTube somehow. Stay tuned.

Instead of asking if they can aired again on PBS, see if they can be made available in a on-demand service like Netflix, Hulu or Amazon Prime.

Count me in on wanting the old shows back. Crockets Victory Garden shows are what got me started into gardening. I loved watching and learning from them. Today's gardening shows can't hold a candle to the old shows is spot on.

Thanks for that link. I too would LOVE to see the original Crocket's Victory Garden. The current version is crap. I gave up watching years ago.

Yes, the old episodes with Bob, Jim and Marion in the kitchen were just fantastic. I'd love to see them broadcast again, or sold on DVD.
