We are doing the same thing. polished concrete can crack, which you can't fix, but has no grout. with tiles you have grout to maintain, but no cracking! Check out Xlight tiles. I was put on to them through here. They are 1x3 meters, so not much grout! They have a concrete look too. My ideal choice us concrete, but it's just too expensive for our upper storey living area.

Polished concrete can run the risk of cracking and wearing away in high traffic areas such as hallways. There are a lot of tile ranges out at the moment successfully replicating concrete and if you go for a large format with rectified / minimal grout joints they can look seamless over large areas. Porcelain tiles are usually don't need to be sealed, are maintenance free and extremely tough and durable.

While polished concrete is right on trend now, amongst other things, you should consider;
1. Your styling aesthetic - whether concrete suits how you plan to furnish and decorate.
2. Your future in the home - is it a long term home and if so will polished concrete suit your taste in the future?
3. The style of your new home and the rest of the finishes both inside and outside your home.
4. Where you live and your lifestyle.

There's many more points that need to be considered prior to making a decision this big. You might consider getting advice for the entire finishes selections. The right person will ask the right questions to provide you with a cohesive scheme for your new home.
