Large kitchen remodel using architect and contractor. However I want to refinish my french sideboard and paint the island my brother is building for our project. Want these pieces different from the wood tone cabinets. I like the amber toned white antique look.

How to achieve this look is the question. One piece will be a refinish and the other will be raw wood. Don't want shabby chic look but a polished antiqued with depth in subtle color.
Any advice is appreciated.
