Can you explain where around the tub the water go? Is it along the wall where the faucet is?

The water goes on the floor right outside where the curtain is open. I place 3 towels and a bath mat on the floor to soak up the water. I also have 2 curtains up the one has suction cups on it to stick to the walls. But still the water comes out.

I think you probably need to see what is happening while they shower. Perhaps just a clear plastic shower curtain with suction cups or magnets would work better w/o the outside curtain. Is there a light above the tub?

Try changing the angle on the shower head so that it is pointing toward the center of the tub. Seems like the kids have to stand far to the right to get wet.

I agree with lolipopi. If you can change your shower head by a hand shower, you will have even more flexibility on where to move it. Plus, it makes the cleaning of the shower/tub so much more easier.

Yes, but then her kids may get water all over the walls & floor if it is changed to a hand held one.

Do you think a curved shower rod would help?

Are you using this shower yourself? If not, maybe you can try it and see if you need to be more cautious when pulling the curtains than in any other normal shower/tub combo. Maybe the shower rod is mounted too low and the water goes over the curtain.

All joking aside, I once had a tub that would allow the water to go onto the floor because the tub had been improperly installed. I solved the problem by getting those corners that stick onto the tub, keeping the water inside the tub.

They even make them longer so they go further up the wall.

I do not use the shower this is my kids bathroom, it seems with 2 curtains the water would not come out. I did purchase a stick on type of corner protection that went up the side of the shower, but the kids kept kicking into it and I could not restick it. I really don't want a glass door but I think it might be the only solution!

i second someone's suggestion that you try showering in this tub yourself, in case something odd is going on, water spraying out of head at bad angles, whatever. my moved-away adult kids had been complaining about the shower in the guest bath (we didnt live here when they were growing up), finally i tried it myself and lo and behold they were correct, the tub was impossible to get in and out of without killing yourself. so, have a test run in the kids shower just in case they arent being total morons.

I agree, if your older kids aren't so young as to be qualified as feisty and messy when taking a shower, I'd say you should try showering in it yourself and see what the problem is. That way you could see how exactly the water keeps spilling out and whether it's an issue with the showerhead or something else.

The angle that the shower head is pointing is almost directly down. Therefore the person taking the shower needs to stand close to that end of the tub. I suggest angling the shower head so that it points to the middle of the tub , then the person in the shower will need to stand in the middle. Then the water splashing of their body will not be so close to where the shower curtain closes.

Your shower head seems very high. We added these adjustable shower bars when we did our reno and really like them. You can set the head at any height, and remove it to use as a hand-held. They're not expensive and readily available. We bought ours at Home Depot.It might help with the splashing.

The double curtain set ups can be trouble. Replace the set up with a single heavy vinyl curtain. And make sure the kids keep the curtain inside the tub when they're showering.

Try a Hookless (r) shower curtain in a spa waffle pattern sold at Bed Bath and Beyond. Never have to take down the shower rod to install- rings are built right in to the header.

It' s not only elegant but a great time saver!

Are they drying off in the shower? Or do they wait to dry off on the bath mat ? Maybe put a basket of towels next to the shower and see if that solves the issue. So they are not dragging water outside the tub.

After a shower, check of the curtain is wet on the outside. I suspect the rod is too low and the water goes on the other side of the curtain.
