Please help! Need ideas on what to put on this empty piece of wood. All I can think of is a big plant or flower arrangement (and if so, like what?) If not, what else? I cannot think out of the box.

Right as you walk in the front door of my multi-level townhome there is a coat closet and set of stairs that lead up to the next level. Right at those stairs and on the top of the coat closet is this empty slab. It is visible form all angles (ground level and first level). It definitely needs something as the empty slab becomes the focal point. It looks like a jumping board to the next level otherwise. Ideas?

Everybody who walks into my home says, "oh wow, what is that, what are you going to put THERE?!" think i need something.
