If I was you, I would probably just paint the trim to match the door color, or go a hair darker, unless the paint is in bad shape. A contrasting trim color really adds dimension to the house.

Katy - this is a darling house with some neat features. Ok - so you don't want to keep the warm gray you have, you probably don't want to be white like neighbors. Paint is an inexpensive step but for an exterior there really is a lot of it so it adds up. Some suggestions to just paint trim, windows and doors might get you a very different look without doing the whole house.

Because you have the red brick walk, I'd like to see the olive tone now on the front door on all the trim, and put a deep red on the front door - going further to put red on the window sashes would be very charming too.. Test, bm mediterranean olive and bm parisian red

A tonal approach would give the house more dimension, so the other step that wouldn't take much effort is to paint the stucco entry area just one shade lighter than the soft taupe that is now on the house. You would take something with the existing paint shade in and ask for it at 75% - you want to keep a natural stone color when you select tones for the stucco portion - something you might find in nature - that is why this soft warm gray is fairly current and others are recommending you keep it. If you don't like the earthy neutrals, you don't have a lot of good choices besides white since you have stucco on the house - this is not right for a pastel yellow or blue though we could find you something that went off in the mossy green direction if you thought that would appeal.

What colors were you thinking about? You could do a soft olive with white trim and amp up the cottage factor . . .a carriage garage door can be hung on a carport . . you don't need a garage to have one (if you like the above suggestion of the first poster) . .

I wonder what colors you like since you haven't mentioned that or if there are colors you absolutely do not want. This is just a guess but how about this one?

The only element I don't like on this photo is all the white trim on the garage.
