My fiancé and I bought a foreclosure/fixer upper and everything needs painted and updated. Fortunately, we are capable of doing most of the work ourselves. However, we can't seem to agree on a paint color and until all the painting is complete, we can't move onto replacing the flooring. The dining/living area is very small and has only one window and a sliding glass door (will eventually be replaced with French doors). The kitchen is also very small and has no windows and opens up to the dining area. We are hoping to remove the small dividing wall and replace it with a breakfast bar. I'd like for the entire area (kitchen, dining, and living areas) to feel like one larger room since the space is so limited. We would love to use some contemporary, bold colors but I think the space is just too small and think we should use a very light gray and white. We already have the replacement flooring and it is Brazilian Cherry (darker hardwood). I'm planning on painting the kitchen cabinets white due the lack of windows and already have updated hardware for those. I would greatly appreciate any advice on paint colors. Also, does anyone have advice on how to use gray without it appearing light blue? Thank you in advance for your help!
