Iris 'War Chief'

Currently I'm switching over to the Reblooming Iris'. Even though 'War Chief' is not one of them, I love the color and I'm keeping him in the collection. I'm not sure if you'd call it a red, a purple or a brown. Whatever it is, me luvs it. Baby's of this plant will be coming to the swap.

For some reason, iris never have red coloring. Yours is as close as one gets and I suspect you would find yours (and similar) to be listed under the 'reds'. Boy, iris really grow well in the Piedmont and deer don't seem to bother them; win, win.

I have this one too. It's one of the few I've decided will make the move to the new house. Love it!
