It does not matter when I purchase or plant I have had pretty bad results with this plant. Last Winter I purchased all the sales and left them in the pots. Placed the pots against the house and piled leaves around the pots. This is the best results I have ever had growing these beauties.

Basically the only one that has lived in my garden at least 2 years has been purple palace.

Same here with the exception of Lime Marmalade. I have an old plain Heuchera that's lived for many years under the canopy of an evergreen shrub--dry shade. Although it doesn't exactly thrive, think it's trying to tell me something? Maybe this should become my new Heuchera flower bed!

I planted 3 Circus last spring and they look great! I In other words I don't think it was the weather, they are planted in the same area as the fall purchases. I realize the different zones may play a part in their survival, I am in zone 5 have never had any losses till these that were planted in the fall. Here I don't cover them or coddle them in the fall but I do leave the dead foliage on till the weather here warms.
