OAK crown molding, cabinets, flooring beadboard.

I want to update our home but don't know where to begin. We are replacing appliances with stainless. Do we paint the oak or the walls or both? Which one first? Pulls are solid brass. Can they be sprayed with appliance paint? Would you use a stainless paint or oil rubbed bronze? I like white cabinets and would love a driftwood gray on walls. Does anyone have a favorite paint color?
