There are many options. Maybe choose something smaller, not to take too much space. We have trench heaters, but have wooden floor.

For my foyer I used an electric heat mat (Warmly Yours) with tile. You can set the floor temp / room temp with a separate thermostat.

Branch it off of the same system that you are using for the rest of the house.

Isn't the heat mat too expensive an option? I mean it is electric and in comparison to gas for instance, the difference is huge. We have Verano trench heaters that also have thermostats to adjust the temperature, but I think they are more convenient and heat up the air much faster.

Thank you so much for your input. I am now looking at electric heaters that mount in the ceiling, because this room will be a multi purpose space - Winter place for some plants, pet feeding and bathing and a place to take off muddy/snowey shoes and hang coats. I know that this is not the most efficient heat source, but the room is not large (10' x 11') and getting the heater up and out of the way of plants and pets is good. We do not care to keep the mudroom as warm as the house in Winter, but just warm enough to protect plants and water pipes. What reasonibly priced, thermostat controlled, ceiling heaters would you recommend?

PS Our golden retriever is very hot natured and will love the cool cement floor.

Personally I will always recommend those Verano things of mine ;) (as I'm very pleased with them) but I get your point. And I don't have epets. It's the first time I look up the ceiling mounted radiators on the internet and they also look nice, not taking space at all, same as trench heaters. Unfortunatelly I cannot give names or brands as I know little about this system...

I have Verano myself. I am very satisfied but in my situation I prefer them in the living room along the entrance to the front garden. They do their job and I cannot feel the difference in temperature at all. And they are more convenient

You may be right. but if I remember well Verano is
specialized in trench heaters and climaconvectors and something else, but not
in electric heating...
