Hi everyone. I am a complete newb when it comes to gardening or taking care of my lawn. About a year ago, I noticed that my backyard was getting a little patchy and due to being a full-time student and worker, I was unable to fix the patchy lawn. As of right now, 50% of my backyard is completely bare and degraded to a sand/clay mixture. I would like to get some help from some of the experts in this forum and see what I can do to get back my green lawn. I have been doing some research to plan on reseeding the yard. I raked the yard clean and this is what was left of it. Would it be appropriate to tilling and amending the soil with compost. As far as I know, there is no drainage whenever I water the bare spots. I would appreciate any advice to get back my lawn!
