When looking at dining room area rug size, it is always good to consider some room to pull out chairs- you don't want half of the chair pulled outside of the area rug.

A good rule of thumb for that is to add about 12" to 18" around each side of the table so you can accommodate for that.

So with the leaf, 8' by 6' might be a good size, Since your floor area is about 15' by 10', that rug should give you enough room to still see a good amount of flooring.

From the walls to edge of your rug, having a 10" to 20" space of flooring is a good look so you should be good with 8'x6' rug.
