Easy to find a chair cushion - buy one for the chair in bright solid. For some reason I picture a stick-on decal for each foot of bed....anything amusing or light-hearted: Beach and on the other Bum. Hang/ Ten. AT THE/ BEACH. SEE YOU/ THERE.....

You could layer on more even: how about throw folded at foot of each bed in bright solid?

Just saw a beach condo with a big wave mural on the wall surrounded by multiple different colored cheap plastic thongs. Real ones velcroed to the wall. Added color, texture, flimsy and beachy all in one. Looked awesome.

I'd personally add curtains. If other wall would be a good place also for fish art, stacked one above other? -- then sand and water art above each bed in tones of bedding. :)

It would help to see more views of the room from different angles.

I think the room is quite pretty! I wouldn't do anything to the beds which I think are super cute. I like the fish pictures but the wall feels still a bit empty to me. I could see making this into a gallery wall with other pictures maybe. I like the idea of moving the beds a bit away from the window too.

Unfortunately there is a walk in closet to the left and the beds have to be over to the right or the door to the closet won't open

i got a giant shark (woven out of seagrass or something) for our beach house. you might try homegoods for more of a statement piece for the bed wall and try those very nice pictures some place else.

i like the bed wall blue, also, to contrast the rug and beds. barring that how about a brighter shade for the lamp?

The biggest impact will be to layer the bedding. Add more pillows (with matching roman blind), a coverlett at the bottom and turn back the comforter for cozy/inviting beds. Suggest lowering the pictures and would change to baskets on top of armoire. I would remove the items from the dresser and decorate like a dressing table with a round mirror above (& fresh flowers). At the foot of each bed, wicker trunks for decor but are also practical - guests can sit on, store/rest their items, you can place blankets inside for cooler nights, or even store the towels you may be supplying. The addition of these items will add another dimension/interst to the room's style vs just being a beachy room.

Great start. Love the picture of the other side of the room with the chest. I would get more colorful bedding using the colors in the chest, add a colorful cushion and a more colorful lamp. I do like the fish pictures but they are only working thematically rather than color-wise at the moment. New bedding may resolve that. I do think they are a bit too high.

Agree with many of the notions. Paint the ends of the beds similar to the dresser, paint a big wave or beach and wave wall behind the beds, add colourful cushions and cushion on chair. Put some window covering in even a soft Aqua. You could even do a colourful abstract painting on the wall rather than beachy. The little fish are cute but one atop another on the small wall beside window and down at eye level would work better.

I might also suggest if possible to move the beds under the window, so they can be centered, use the dresser in the middle (so armoire/dresser don't feel as cramped), can place a chair by the armoire and if you added drapery, it would nicely frame in the beds. Just a thought, if room was wide enough. Or you could move them together on the wall where they are, so they are centered and frees up more space on either side.

Maureen, I used to have the beds under the window which is more centered, but the TV connection for cable is on the other wall and I didn't want to have to have the cable running across the floor or around the door. Didn't know how to avoid the cable without moving the beds. Thank you for your great suggestions!

To echo other commenters, curtains would be a simple, quick way to give that space some more personality and bring it to life a bit. What do you think about something like these curtains?
