Help... Polished travertine on bathroom floor is slippery.

I have honed tiles on my bathroom and decided to have them polished them because the honed was too hard to keep clean. The tiles have already been set and I was shown a small sample today of what the floor would look like after grout or epoxy. In the sample the tile and grout are even flush and you can't feel a difference between tile and grout. It's like a solid piece of Travertine and looks very slippery. they plan to finish grouting then polish tomorrow... My question... Is there a special grout to give this floor some texture or traction so not so slippery? Also, shouldn't you be able to feel a difference between tile and grout? Any suggestion are so appreciated? I'm don't know how to articulate this to the tile guy tomorrow.

There is slip proofing you can get to put on the tile. Just google slip proofing tile

The grout in the photo appears to be un-sanded grout. That is typical for travertine and marble installations. You could switch to a sanded grout. You will likely scratch the travertine in the process, which you may or may not be able to polish out.

We put travertine in our powder room -floor and one wall. We grouted and then sealed it. It's not slippery at all so I'm a little confused. Your herringbone design is beautiful!

It is beautiful. We had polished travertine throughout our condo. Loved it, and had no problems whatsoever. We left it unpolished in the showers.

That is really pretty. I don't have travertine, but my tile can be slippery with wet feet so I use matching mats in strategic spots in the room. When I want to show the bathroom to best advantage I remove the mats.

I was unaware of slip proofing tile. Good tip, it's what makes HOUZZ a good source of info.

Can you please share what color this travertine is? Trying to redo a bathroom and suddenly all the neutral travertines take on yellow, peach and gold hues when I start looking at granite counters with them! Do you feel that your travertine is still creamy looking? Do you mind if I ask what material you used in the countertop? Thanks!
