cherry tree? or something else?

I recently moved into a new house, and I discovered this cherry tree (I think) blossoming in my yard. Doea anyone know if this is a cherry blossom or another kind of fruit?

I thought it might be a cherry also, but the blossoms didn't look right with the dark dot in the middle. Hawthorn, it is.
They grow all over on dry abandoned fields west of Maple Valley.
I have never favored Hawthorns, even Paul's Scarlet. I guess it's because I've had to remove a few over the years on landscape jobs. The thorns and branching pattern were always a problem, making it hard to transport and handle without bleeding some. Pyracantha has the same faults.

Cherries mostly finished blooming now but possibly a Malus (apple, crabapple). Can you post a photo of the entire tree? Or at least the leaves?

Typical flowers and leaves of a hawthorn are visible in this picture. A common one in this region that has this general appearance, is in flower now is Crataegus monogyna. Although prevalent in cultivated settings it is actually a weed in the local ecosystem.

If that's a hawthorn then that photo is an extreme close up.

Apart from the flowers, look at the leaf outlines - in particular the one on the right.

The contrast was too low for me to see any leaves clearly. Had to enlarge and move computer to see. I concur......it's a hawthorn :-)
