Table for under window

I have to agree that a smallish chair by the left window panel would look nice. Love the furniture! I don't think I saw a rug-that would be great too. Make sure it is big enough to go under front legs of sofa.

Love what you have so far. I think I would skip the table under the window. I'm afraid if it's centered with the window it may look cramped. I would add another small square table to the corner with a lamp. I do like your Moms suggestion of a chair placed near the door. As far as art I would suggest a large rectangular piece above sofa.

TV looks too high on the wall. It should be only a few inches over the console, about 5 or 6 at the most.

Wondering if the TV would be better located to the wall that is now in back of the sofa. Turn the sofa so its back with the large window. Be sure to pull it away from the curtains about 8 inches so they can fall freely. Now place TV & console on the large blank wall across from windows.

Yes we plan on moving the tv down a few inches once we get the console. Tv has to stay where it is sorry no way will husband re wire lol.

What do you think about a square small gold bamboo table next to sectional. I am loving that look just not sure if it would work

I saw this one and the dimension works I only have 15 inches to work with . I would place it opposite of how the pic is shown. Table is 14 by 23 inches I think

I have this chair I could re do. What color would u suggest. Navy gray or even a charcoal velvet?? It's a good chair so I wouldn't mind spending the money on it. My dog destroyed the fabric on it lol

What else would u add to walls or is the one piece on long wall enough. I am having a hard time finding long rectangle art in style I like

You TV is in the traffic path from the front door so you may tire of that location very quickly. The credenza you like will also block traffic. It would become a focal point on the other wall, but your TV may not be glare resistant. As for your new LR pieces, I'd prefer the chair be more colorful, like the yellow pillow, to add accent to the room It is not as formal looking as your sofa is, and the seat is too deep. I don't think it looks comfortable or inviting. When you shop for a rug, look for one that will slip under the first 1/3 of the sofa and extend past the ends by 12-18" for a well-anchored look. I suggest you have your drapes lined so they hang better and don't have "see-through" spots where the window lets light in. Fiber shades under them would block glare if you move the TV, and would add some needed texture to your living room.

Another option for that corner would be a floor lamp. You should be able to find a chair that is more suitable to your sofa for less than reupholstering the current chair. Can you tape out the picture sizes and shapes above your sofa to see what looks good? It should be about 2/3 the size of your sofa. You can use a set of prints if you like something in a smaller size. I like the art you picked but I think it may be a little bold for what is in the room now.

I guess I should have added that we don t use front door ever well except to get the mail . So as far being in way of traffic this is not an issue. The drapes are lined but I can see what you mean in the pictures. It really doesn't bother me enough to invest in lining them. We have no issues with glare on tv where it is and changing the wall position is not an option. There is not enough space for tv and piece I ordered on that wall viewing the tv would also be to close. I should add we don't really do much entertaining in this room. It will be used basically by me and my husband to watch tv. When we have people over everyone seems to end up in the kitchen. This is a small cape and the rooms are cut off from each other. That's why I really did t care for a chair but it seems to need something by the door. I have no clue as to what style chair would go with room. I know it would prob be cheaper to buy new.

Sofa is about 90 inches so about 60 inches. I like the colors in those pics thought it would give the room some needed color. I honestly don t have a clue!! Lol. I was also going to wait for a rug because I just love the floors so much I hate to cover them. Also have no idea what I would pic anyway. I had to order 6 runners for my hall to find the one I like. Shipping gets expensive not much time to run around to store and the ones I have been to don t have much of a selection!

Oh forgot to mention I have not pressed drapes yet that should help them to lay better

Is your sectional staying? In my humble opinion, it is way too large for the space. A sofa and two chairs would look beautiful and give you many more options for seating arrangements.
That sectional should be in a very large family room or basement where it doesn't swallow up the whole space. I like to see furniture situated away from walls and not hugging the walls as yours does.

If you are only using the room for you and hubby to watch tv maybe you don't need another chair. When you get your console the room may feel full enough. Everything is very nice so far.

Of course the sectional is staying I just bought it. Unfortunately we have a very small home. I am looking for a comfy room my husband and I can lay around in its not for entertaining. I just need ideas on what to do with the walls and how I can balance the sectional with a chair table ect....

I have a television set high over a fire place - so height is not a problem. In fact, it should be set where it's comfortable to watch it from afar.

Don't get a deep credenza because of that door (despite that there is less foot traffic).

● An armless chair is appropriate. I like the blue chair you put up as an example. The sectional does look like it's taken up most of the space, so be minimal in adding on any more furniture. Coincidentally my husband purchased a huge sectional which now sits in front of our fireplace and in a room about that size. Tight but it works well. If you do need additional chairs when you have company, perhaps bring out extra chairs but what you have is fine.

● You can add a neutral shade, sisal carpet to anchor the place. or get a carpet with 'faded' or muted colours so it doesn't call attention to itself but rather just enhances the entire decor.

● If you need side tables, keep them round so no one bumps into in.

● Window treatments; your curtains are fine in my opinion. What you do need is a roman blind set beneath those curtains to complete the look. (or shutters but its more expensive) You might want to invest in a tall shrub for the window area outside so the room don't look so exposed from the street. It feels as if anyone can just peek in..

● Pictures: You can do a grouping of pictures or one large photo on only one focus wall but not all the walls otherwise its too busy. It doesn't have to be pictures, it can be wood carvings, tapestry or anything decorative but not a mirror. Or mix.. Can be anything you like.. just be sure to reflect some of that colour in say... pillows, or carpets, or vases, etcs..

● Consider using Command 3M products so you keep your walls clean and no screws need.

Check out Art.com or Great Big Canvas for inspirations & better prices. Go outside the all blue range to add more color. I would move the sectional so it is more centered on that same wall, giving yourself enough room in the corner for a floor lamp. Just add a square storage cube near the door angled so it will be available for an extra seat. Look at Overstock.com or Ikea for area rugs to position under the front feet of both sides of the sectional.

Great choice of art, the colors and flowers will really bring that space to life!

Ok so if I do decide on a accent chair blue would be best choice? I do need an other side table for lamp I am not a big floor lamp person. Not sure why just not a fan lol. Credenza is not to deep at all and is just a few inches longer than tv. I do need the extra storage that it provides . I like the idea of a wall gallery just not sure how to approach it. Thank u for the good ideas working with what I have. It's very frustrating to decorate let alone people wanting you to change everything you've just purchased. I see that a lot on houzz. I like what I have just need some ideas to make it complete . Thank u

Credenza should be 24" wider than the TV for balance. As for your art, I thought they were not right for your more contemporary furniture, but art is a personal choice. You might shop local artists or a university art department for something special that speaks to you. Often students or professors will have art for sale or can be commissioned to do something just for you. If you see a style you like, see if that artist will work with you to paint something especially for your room.

I really like the blue in your cushions. I would look for a small blue end table with a drawer that could hold the remotes, books, etc. If you can't find one new maybe a vintage piece that you could paint. I don't see why the chair you have won't work. Maybe put a blue cushion on it. It would also be a very easy chair to recover if you don't like the fabric.

Whew just checked dimensions on credenza !!! I think it will be fine tv is 48 unit is 68. I can live with a couple inches on each side. Thank you for that advice I never heard that. I assumed any size larger would work . I am not really a modern style person and never really considered the sectional modern or formal. Goes to show I know little in the decorating department. I just know what I like when I see it. I thought the flowers had a contemporary feel without being to modern. I hate abstract . I always seem to be attracted to floral and I felt the colors would pop in the room.

I too don t see why the chair wouldn't work but it definitely needs to be recovered. I think someone said it was to casual. I see it all the time in pics done casual and formal so I am pretty confused what my style is now lol. I am waiting for a price on labor. We never sat on chair before I used it for the same reason I would now ...balance. I hate that my rooms are so small it s very hard to make them functional !!

You can easily tie in all the furniture together w/simple accent pillows. Just don't choose solid coloured pillows so you can work in other things such as the pictures you choose.

To create a gallery of pictures or mixed art- simple imagine a large rectangular shape on your wall & then star 'filling' that space w/ art. The nice thing w/ this is you can continue adding or editing as time passes. In fact in my case I went thru antique markets , flea markets to obtain pictures & mixed it in w/ new ones

for me I like blue colour chair. That's because I've a sensitivity about colours. Yellow can make me feel sickly but that's just me.

I like the style of both chairs. The arms shape echoes the sofa arms. I do think I like the blue one better simply because I'm not a huge fan of tufting. That is just a personal preference.

Was going to do top in a 30 by 30 and sides 20 by 20. Maybe.....lol so many to choose this will take me weeks
