These are curbside as I type.

I don't get it, lol. It looks very complicated. I like the looks of the split pieces though. I am excited to watch this project. Thanks for sharing.

I try to make my posts as easy to understand as possible. What part isn't clear?

hot melt glue is not very strong

Joseph, I'm sure it is clear but I was at the end of an exhausting day at work when I read this and couldn't think about details. I really have to focus today for anything to make sense, so I look forward to reading it in the morning with a fresh mind.

I had trouble understanding too but I liked the fact that you could divide that piece of wood in half so perfectly! This is what I understood from what you wrote: You divided a cabinet in half so that you could put another cabinet between the two halves?

"You divided a cabinet in half so that you could put another cabinet between the two halves?"

Correct. Asymmetry would not have looked good in this situation.

"hot melt glue is not very strong"

I suggest you verify the adhesive used in the rabbets of modern production cabinets. It's hot melt.

Sure, I could have used a PVA, but I'd have had to clamp and wait. In this application it's moot anyway, because the glued ends will be ganged to the solid center cabinet ends. When those screws grab, the glue could let go and nothing would change.

I get it, you split a cabinet and put another one in between. Your wife is so inspiring!

I figured it out even before I read Jerzeegirl's reply, : ) A good nights sleep does wonders!

Wow, the rest of us mere mortals just have to find another cabinet that will fit in the space.

I honestly would pay for lessons to learn how to do such stuff!

If I don't get some paying work tomorrow, I'll be plumbing the wall mounted faucets. Come on over; no charge. :)

Joseph, can we see pics of your finished vanity? (I assume you've completed your bathroom by now?)

This is it. That's a caulk test under the bowl corner. It's finished now.

I just took this one. My back is against the shower wall; it's the best I can do.

Looks beautiful!!!!

Very nice, I bet your DW is very pleased with you! Lol

enduring: Yes, her pleasure is all I collected on this job.

Looks great! Thanks for the pics.
